Day 1 » Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate
Our staff will pick you from your hotel in Marrakech to start the journey to a bunch of beautiful destinations and visit Morocco.
Firstly you will pass through the Atlas Mountains up to the Tizi n’Tichka mountain pass at 2,260m. At a certain point in the main road, you turn left into the isolated areas of Telouet. You will visit the ancient kasbah Telouet, a magnificent mud palace in the middle of the remote mountain area.
Down the mountains and through the fascinating Ounila Valley, you go towards Ksar Ait Benhaddou. This UNESCO Morocco site is a fortified mud-brick village full of the best examples of kasbahs in Morocco.
Continuing your journey to Ouarzazate, you visit the famous Atlas Studios. This is the shooting location for countless famous movies such as the Kingdom of Heaven, Prisoners of the Sun, Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia, Kundun, the Mummy, a Hologram for the King, Prince of Persia, Babel, Body of Lies, and many others.
You arrive at your hotel in Ouarzazate. You can now go to your room and have a shower and get ready for dinner.
The day was long, and you need to prepare for tomorrow’s drive to Todra Gorges Canyon.
Day 2 » Ouarzazate – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges canyon
Good morning from Ouarzazate. Before driving to Dades Valley, you make a short stop to visit the famous 17th-century Kasbah Taourirt belonging to the Marrakech Pacha from the Glaoui tribes.
Continuing your trip, you depart towards the magnificent Dades Valley that due its red colors looks like you’re entering another planet.
After a short photo stop at the Monkey Finger’s viewpoint, you now go up the incredible Tissadrine road that’s on the list of most beautiful drivable roads in the world.
Driving towards another spectacular site, you cross the Tinghir area with some photo stops.
Deep inside the valley, you finally go out for a walk inside the breathtaking Todra Gorge canyon.
You arrive at your hotel inside the Todra Gorge canyon. You can now go to your room and have a shower and get ready for dinner.
Again, the day was long, and you need to prepare for tomorrow’s drive to the desert.
Day 3 » Todra Gorges canyon – Rissani – Khamlia – Erg Chebbi dunes
You have an early departure after breakfast at your Todra Gorges hotel.
Your first stop at the desert areas will be to visit Rissani’s eclectic market, the mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, and the historical fortified village of Ksar Oulad Abdelhalim.
Arriving to Erg Chebbi dunes, you will watch a Gnawa music show at Khamlia village.
The third day of your Marrakech desert trip ends when you finally arrive in the lovely Merzouga desert camp.
After a camel ride in Erg Chebbi Dunes, you’re ready to go inside your tent, shower, have dinner, and listen to some local traditional music.
Day 4 » Erg Chebbi dunes – Ziz Valley – Azrou – Fes
Today, you have to wake up very early to enjoy a magnificent sunrise in the Sahara Desert. It is hard to wake up but worth the effort. Go up one of the big dunes and enjoy this fantastic nature-site.
You start the third day of your adventure to reach the city of Fes late afternoon.
Today you pass lovely areas of Morocco. Driving north to Fes, up the Atlas Mountains, you will be amazed as the landscapes change from dunes to rocky mountains, to an alpine forest in Ifrane, into the Mediterranean scenario near Fes, in just one day.
Before exiting the desert, you pass through the incredible Ziz Valley, where you stop for a panoramic view of the millions of palm trees of Tafilalet palm grove.
Starting going up the mountains, you will pass Midelt, the Moroccan apple capital. You will notice the cool mountain brize in contrast to the warm desert winds.
After comes Azrou, which is famous for its forests and the famous Barbary monkeys. You will stop to profit from the Cèdre Gouraud Forest and its impressive 35-meter-tall cedar tree.
Before heading to Fes, you will still visit the exciting city of Ifrane, with its Alpine architecture and surrounded by lakes and forests. You will ask yourself if you’re still in Morocco or somewhere in Central Europe.
